Physical Education, Physical Activity & School Sport (PEPASS)

Mr Lockyer teaches PE to all our classes and is our Sports Co-ordinator. Each term he sends out a PE newsletter updating parents on events in the school.  We are very fortunate to have the use of a gym hall. basketball court and synthetic grass football pitch for PE lessons.

We work closely with Lyndsey Jackson, who is the Active Schools Co-ordinator for the Bishopbriggs Academy Cluster of schools, to run lunchtime and after-school clubs which complement our PE programme.

School Sport

Active Schools is a nationwide initiative that aims to offer all children and young people the opportunities and motivation to adopt active, healthy lifestyles, now and into adulthood.

Recruiting and supporting parent volunteers to deliver extra-curricular clubs is vital and enable us to provide further opportunities for sports development and access to clubs for all our pupils. Last session, Mr Stevenson and Mrs Wilkin very generously gave up their time to support well-attended clubs which are always talked about positively by the boys and girls.

We hope to encourage more parents and carers to lead and support sports clubs within the school.

If you would like to support the continual development of physical activity and sport within the school, our Active School Coordinator, Lyndsey Jackson, can provide support and training for those interested in delivering lunchtime or after-school activities. This could be in any appropriate sport/activity. If you would be willing to volunteer your time please contact Lyndsey, or myself via the office.
